Hi everyone! Today I'm going to show you how to make an easy necklace with beads and leather cord! It's an ideal project for beginners in jewelry making and it's also a very classic and easy-to-wear necklace! I'm using a beautiful stingray leather cord and some purple shaded beads (purple shades are on trend this fall!).

Γεια σας! Σήμερα θα σας δείξω πως να φτιάξετε ένα εύκολο -και ευκολοφόρετο- κολιέ με χάντρες και δερμάτινο κορδόνι. Διάλεξα μωβ αποχρώσεις για τις χάντρες γιατί εκτός του ότι μου αρέσουν είναι και ένα από τα χρώματα που θα φορεθεί πολυ αυτό το φθινόπωρο!

Supplies :

1. Beads stringing wire

2. Stingray cords

3. Beads 

4. Cord end caps

5. Crimp beads

6. Jumprings

7. Lobster clasp

8. Calottes

9. Spacer beads

Also you'll need flat nose pliers.

Να τι υλικά θα χρειαστείτε:

1. Ατσαλόσυρμα (ή αλλιως ντίζα)
2. Δερμάτινο κορδόνι
3. Χάντρες
4. Ακροδέκτες για το δερμάτινο κορδόνι
5. Στοπάκια
6. Κρικάκια
7. Κούμπωμα παπαγαλάκι
8. Καρλότες
9. Μικρές χάντρες
Επίσης θα χρειαστείτε πένσα.  

Start by cutting a piece of the wire, keep it long enough to thread your beads. Thread a crimp bead and form a loop bringing the wire back into the crimp bead. Press the bead with your pliers to secure. Cut off any excess wire.

Κόψτε ένα κομμάτι ατσαλόσυρμα αρκετά μακρύ ώστε να χωράνε οι χάντρες σας. Περάστε ένα μικρό στοπάκι στο σύρμα, γυρίστε το σύρμα ώστε να κάνει μια θηλειά μέσα στο στοπάκι και ασφαλίστε το με την πένσα.

To hide the crimp bead you can use a calotte but that's optional. It will look better thought so I'm doing it for this project. Slide the calotte through the wire like this :

Τώρα θα χρησιμοποιήσουμε μια "καρλότα". Το βήμα αυτό μπορούμε να το παραλείψουμε αλλά το κόσμημα μας θα δείχνει πιο ωραίο με τις καρλότες μιας και η δουλειά τους είναι να καλύπτουν τα στοπάκια. Περάστε την καρλότα έτσι όπως στη φωτο :


Now place it on top of the loop you made and cover that loop by closing the two ends of the calotte. Make sure that there is an open hole under the calotte's holes and use your pliers to secure it.

Στη συνέχεια βάλτε τη πάνω στο στοπάκι και κλείστε τη ωστε να το καλύπτει. Με την πένσα σας πιέστε την καρλότα ώστε να ασφαλίσει.


Next thread the beads and the spacer beads creating a pattern.

Τώρα είναι η στιγμή να περάσετε τις χάντρες.

   
Now use another crimp bead and a calotte to make a loop and secure the wire. This time slide the calotte first, then the crimp bead, make the loop and close the calotte.

Για να ασφαλίσετε το κομμάτι με τις χάντρες επαναλάβετε τη διαδικασία με το στοπάκι και την καρλότα. Αυτή τη φορά πρέπει να περάσετε πρώτα την καρλότα και μετά το στοπάκι.

  
Next, glue the end caps to the leather cord and using jumprings attach the wire with the beads to the leather cord.

Με μια ισχυρή κόλλα κολλήστε στις άκρες του δερμάτινου κορδονιού από έναν ακροδέκτη. Μόλις στεγνώσει, με δυό κρικάκια ενώστε το κομμάτι με τις χάντρες που φτιάξατε πριν με το δερμάτινο κορδόνι.

  
Finally, cut the leather cord in the middle, glue some more end caps and attach the clasp on one side and a jumpring on the other.

Τέλος, κόψτε το δερμάτινο κορδόνι στην μέση της άλλη πλευράς, κολλήστε και πάλι ακροδέκτες και με δυο κρικάκια περάστε το κούμπωμα.
