DIY March bracelet! / Πως να φτιάξω βραχιόλι-Μάρτη!

According to a Greek tradition on the first day of March everyone should wear a red and white bracelet for good luck and to avoid getting a sunburn! This custom is very popular even today! The bracelets were used to be made from a plain white and red thread. Nowadays, March bracelets are also a fashion accessory and you can buy one with beads, charms and anything you can imagine! It has to be red and white thought! Today I'm giving you some ideas so you can make your own March bracelet!

Δεν έχει φύγει ακόμη καλά καλά ο Φλεβάρης και ήδη βλέπω γύρω μου βραχιολάκια Μάρτη, τα γνωστα και αγαπημένα Μαρτάκια! Τι θα λέγατε φέτος να φτιάξετε μόνες σας ένα πρωτότυπο βραχιολάκι Μάρτη? Θα σας δώσω μερικές ιδέες και συμβουλές και θα δείτε πως δεν είναι και τόσο δύσκολο!

I'm using this red and white cord (the same one we use on Christmas decorations) and beads, charms, tassels, bows etc! You can find instructions on how to make those tiny cotton tassels here. If you are having trouble threading beads to this cord, try using a needle to help you!

Χρησιμοποιώ το κλασσικό λευκό- κόκκινο κορδονάκι που μπορείτε να αγοράσετε έτοιμο σε καταστήματα με υλικά κοσμημάτων και είναι και πολύ οικονομικό! Μπορείτε να περάσετε χάντρες μέσα στο κορδόνι με τη βοήθεια μια βελόνας ή φιογκάκια για ένα πιο παιχνιδιάρικο αποτέλεσμα! Κρεμάστε ματάκια και φουντίτσες για ένα πιο σικάτο αποτέλεσμα! Δείτε εδώ πως να φτιάξετε μικρές υφασμάτινες φουντίτσες!

Fun and colorful wrapped summer bracelet you can make with kids!

μακραμε βραχιόλια βήμα-βήμα 3:26 μ.μ.

Every girl loves bracelets especially in summertime! This time I made a very easy and colorful bracelet that you can make with your kids too! You'll need zero tools for this one!

Όλες οι γυναίκες αγαπάμε τα βραχιόλια ειδικά το καλοκαίρι! Αυτή τη φορά έφτιαξα ένα πολύ εύκολο, πολύ χρωματιστό και πολυ καλοκαιρινό βραχιόλι που μπορείτε να φτιάξετε και με τα παιδιά σας! Και το καλύτερο? Δε θα χρειαστείτε εργαλεία!

Materials :
-Cotton cord for the base of the bracelet (use a thick one, I used 2mm)
-Various thin (1mm or less) cotton cords in bright colors for the wrapping
-Fish connector charm
-2 metallic beads with big holes
-1 eyepin
-An evil eye bead

Υλικά :
-2mm βαμβακερό κορδόνι για τη βάση του βραχιολιού
-Διάφορα λεπτότερα βαμβακερά κορδόνια (1mm ή λιγότερο) σε έντονα χρώματα
-Σύνδετικό τσαρμ ψαράκι ή ότι άλλο θέλετε
-2 μεταλλικές χάντρες με μεγάλη τρύπα
-1 γράνα
-Χαντρούλα ματάκι

First measure the cord you'll need for your wrist and double that size. Cut the cord in two equal pieces and slide each piece to each one of the holes of your connector charm.

Αρχικά μετρήστε το κορδόνι που θα χρειαστείτε για τον καρπό σας και διπλασιάστε αυτό το μέγεθος. Τώρα κόψτε το κορδόνι σε δυο ισα μέρη και περάστε το κάθε κομμάτι κορδονιού στην κάθε άκρη του συνδέσμου.

Now take a small piece of one of the colorful cords, make two tight knots and wrap it around the base cord a few times like you see in the picture.

Ξεκινήστε με ένα μικρό κομμάτι από το χρωματιστό κορδόνι και αφου κάνετε σφιχτό κόμπο στην άκρη τυλίξτε το κάμποσες φορές και κάντε πάλι κόμπο.

Repeat this process with another color like this

Συνεχίστε με ένα άλλο χρώμα όπως στη φωτο

Now do the same with two more colors for the other side of the bracelet. Cut off any excess cord and burn the edges so it doesn't fray.

Κάντε το ίδιο με άλλα δυο χρώματα για την άλλη πλευρά του βραχιολιού. Κόψτε ότι κορδόνι περισσεύει και κάψτε τις άκρες για να μην ξεφτίσουν.

Now bring both ends of the base cord together to make an adjustable macrame closure. Take a piece of the colorful cord and first tie a knot over the two ends. Next, bring right cord under middle cords and over left cord like this.

Για να φτιάξετε το μακραμέ κούμπωμα φερτε τις δυο άκρες του βραχιολιού μαζί και ακολουθήστε τα βήματα στις φωτο. Δείτε κι εδώ τα βήματα για το μακραμέ.

Pull tight and the first knot will look like this

Next, bring left cord first, under right cord second, under middle cord and finally over right cord. Pull tight.

Repeat this process for a few knots more and when you are satisfied with the closure, cut off any excess cord and burn the edges. It will look like this :

Slide the metallic beads on each side and make knots so that the adjustable closure doesn't come off.

Μην ξεχάσετε στις άκρες να βάλετε χάντρες και να κάνετε από έναν κόμπο ώστε το κούμπωμα να μην μπορεί να βγει.

Finally with the help of the eyepin, attach the evil eye bead too.

Προαιρετικά (και στο μόνο σημείο που θα χρειαστείτε εργαλεία) με τη βοήθεια μιας γράνας κρεμάστε ένα ματάκι.

That's it! Your colorful easy summer bracelet is ready! Feel free to get addicted and make a bunch of them!

Macrame glass connector bracelet DIY / Πως να φτιάξεις βραχιόλια μακραμέ! (οδηγίες βήμα-βήμα)

I just love macrame bracelets! And what I love more is making them! There is something about tying knots that is so relaxing! If you haven't try it please do! Τhis time I've added some glass connectors in bright colours and they look so classy! Here are my step-by-step instructions for making them with 2 different ways!

Λατρεύω τα βραχιολια μακραμε! Περισσότερο λατρεύω να τα φτιάχνω! Είναι πολυ χαλαρωτικό να κάνεις κόμπους! Αν δεν το έχετε δοκιμάσει, το συνιστώ ανεπιφύλακτα! Αυτή τη φορά πρόσθεσα στα βραχιόλια μου και υπέροχες πέτρες και έγιναν πολύ σικ! Να και οι οδηγίες για να τα φτιάξετε κι εσείς βήμα-βήμα μακραμέ βραχιόλια με 2 διαφορετικούς τρόπους!

You'll need approximately 3m of cord and glass connectors for each bracelet. I've chosen 2mm cord but you can use 1mm (but I strongly reccomend at least 1.5mm to make it more durable). You can use macrame cord (do not use wax cord) or any type of cord as long as it can be burned. Cut 2 pieces appr. 20 cm each and 2 pieces appr. 1m each.

Θα χρειαστείτε περίπου 3μ κορδόνι και "συνδέσμους" για το καθε βραχιόλι. Διάλεξα κορδόνι 2 χιλ. αλλά μπορείτε να χρησιμοποιήσετε και 1 χιλ. (αλλά συνιστώ τουλάχιστον 1,5 χιλ. για να γίνει πιο ανθεκτικό). Χρησιμοποίηστε κορδόνι βαμαβακερό που καίγεται (όχι κερωμένο!). Κόψτε 2 κομμάτια περίπου 20 εκ. το ένα και αλλα 2 κομμάτια του 1μέτρου περίπου το καθένα.

First let's make the "spiral" bracelet. Take your 20cm piece and slide it through one side of your connector.

1. Take your 1m piece and and tie a knot in the middle. Now you have 2 cords one to the left, one to the right.

2. Take the right cord and slide it under the middle cords and over the left cord.

Πρώτα θα κάνουμε το "σπιραλ" μακραμέ βραχιόλι. Πάρτε το ένα κομμάτι των 20 εκ. και περάστε το στη μια άκρη του συνδέσμου σας.
1. Πάρτε το ένα κομμάτι του 1μ και δέστε το στη μέση του με εναν κόμπο στο μικροτερο κομμάτι. Τώρα έχετε 4 κορδόνια ένα αριστερά, ένα δεξιά και 2 στη μέση.
2. Πάρτε το δεξί κορδόνι και περάστε το κάτω απο τα μεσαία κορδόνια και πάνω από το αριστερό.

3. Now take your left cord and slide it over the middle cords and then under the left cord and tie a knot. Here's what that knot will look like.

3. Τώρα πάρτε το αριστερό και περάστε το πάνω απο τα μεσαία κορδόνια και κάτω από το δεξί και σφίξτε να δημιουργηθεί αυτός ο κόμπος.

4. Repeat those steps until you make one side of the bracelet. Το finish it off cut the ends and burn them so they melt and stich in place. Then make the other side. As you tie the knots a spiral will be created. This is what it will look like.

4. Επαναλάβετε τα ίδια βήματα μέχρι να τελειώσετε τη μια άκρη του βραχιολιού. Επειτα κόψτε το κορδόνι που περισσεύει δεξιά και αριστερά και κάψτε το ώστε να λιώσει και να κολλήσει. Κάντε το ίδιο για την άλλη πλευρά του βραχιολιού. Όσο προχωράτε με τους κόμπους δημιουργείτε ενα σπιραλ όπως βλέπετε στη φωτο.

Now on to the second method. For this method steps 1,2,3 are the same as the first one.

Για το δεύτερο τρόπο που θα σας δείξω, τα βήματα 1,2,3 είναι τα ίδια.

The difference is that now you don't repeat the same step over and over! Instead, after tying the first knot, slide the left cord under middle cords and over right cord and right cord over middle cords and under left cord.

Η διαφορά είναι πως τώρα δεν επαναλαμβάνεται τα ίδια βήματα συνεχως. Μόλις κάνετε τον πρώτο κόμπο με τα παραπάνω βήματα, περάστε το αριστερό κορδόνι κάτω από τα μεσαία και πάνω από το δεξί και το δεξί πάνω από τα μεσαία κορδόνια και κάτω από το δεξί.

Tie the knot and this is what it will look like with 2 knots.

Σφίξτε τα να γίνει κόμπος. Μετά από 2 κόμπους θα δείχνει έτσι:

Tie knots on each side alternately until you reach desired length. Repeat for the other side of the bracelet .
Instead of a clasp, make your bracelets adjustable using one more small piece of cord and the second method. Just bring the 2 ends together and tie the knots on both ends.

Κάντε τους κόμπους εναλλάξ, μια αριστερά, μια δεξιά μέχρι να φτάσετε στο μέγεθος που θέλετε και στην μια και στην άλλη πλευρα του συνδέσμου.
Αντί για κούμπωμα θα κάνετε τα βραχιόλια σας να εχουν ρυθμιζόμενο μέγεθος φέρνοντας τις δυο άκρες μαζί και με ενα μικρό κομμάτι κορδονιού από πάνω κάνετε πάλι τους ίδιους κόμπους, λιγότερους αυτή τη φορά.
