You know I always love to add some sparkle in my life! When Christmas comes I go crazy! This year I can't really find my Christmas mood yet (recent sad events in the world don't help) but you know what, I'm a mom and I can't let fear take away my life and not let me celebrate Christmas with my kids. This first Christmas post however is all about grown-ups! All about us that love sparkly jewelry! I've gathered 10 DIY's from around the web for sparkly jewelry you can make until Christmas!

Θέλω να ξεκινήσω τις Χριστουγεννιάτικές μου αναρτήσεις αν και δεν εχω ιδιαίτερο κέφι (λογικό νομίζω ποιός έχει αυτες τις μέρες). Παρόλα αυτά είμαι γονιός και δεν μπορώ να αφήσω το φόβο και τη λύπη να στερήσει απο τα παιδιά μου τα Χριστούγεννα. Άσχετη λίγο η πρώτη μου Χριστουγεννιάτικη ανάρτηση αλλά σχετική με όλες εμάς που αγαπάμε τα κοσμήματα! Cord statement necklace

κολιέ 9:35 μ.μ.

I'm all about the necklaces lately! This time I made one again with leftover cord!

Mε την άφιξη του φθινοπώρου εχω πάθει ένα μικρο κόλλημα με τα κολιέ! Εφτιαξα λοιπόν άλλο ένα με κομμάτια απο κορδόνι που είχαν περισσέψει!

Here are the materials I used :
-cotton cord (rope) in 3 different colours
-glue
-magnetic clasp
-faux stone cabochon
-flat aluminium wire

Να τα υλικά μου:
-κορδόνι ορειβατικό σε 3 διαφορετικά χρώματα
-κόλλα
-μαγνητικό κούμπωμα
-καμποσόν με πέτρα
-φλατ συρμα αλουμινίου

Start by placing the cords the way you like. The two smaller pieces were the same length and I used the black one as the primary color.
It's hard to keep them in place so add a dab of glue between them to make it easier.

Για αρχή έβαλα τα κορδόνια μου σε σειρά φτιάχνοντας το σχέδιο μου. Τα δυο μικρότερα κομμάτια ήταν ίσα αλλά το μαύρο μεγαλύτερο.
Για να μείνουν στη θέση τους έβαλα λίγη κολλα μεταξύ τους.

Then cut two pieces of your wire and use it to wrap the cords together so they stay together. You can wrap that wire with your hands, it's very flexible. Just make sure to tack the ends nicely at the back using pliers.

Έκοψα 2 κομμάτια απο το σύρμα και τα τύλιξα στις άκρες των κορδονιών σφιχτά για να τα κρατήσει στη θέση τους. Μπορείτε ακόμη και με τα χέρια σας να χρησιμοποιήσετε αυτο το σύρμα. Έπρεπε όμως να χρησιμοποιήσω την πένσα μου για να πιέσω το σύρμα στην πίσω πλευρά και να το "κρύψω" ώστε να μην ενοχλεί όταν το φορέσω.

Now glue the cabochon in the middle. When using this really strong glue, make sure to use it in a good ventilated room or outside.

Επειτα κόλλησα το καμποσόν στη μέση. Εδω πρέπει να υπενθυμίσω πως όταν δουλευετε με τόσο ισχυρές κόλλες καλό είναι να είστε σε εξωτερικό χώρο ή κοντά σε ανοιχτό παράθυρο.

Finally you'll need to glue the clasp. The ends of this cord fray easily so to be able to fit them in the clasp a good trick is to cover them with some tape first.

Τέλος, κόλλησα το μαγνητικό κούμπωμα. Αυτα τα κορδόνια έχουν την τάση να ξεφτίζουν γρήγορα και εύκολα οπότε ένα καλό κόλπο είναι να τυλίγετε τις άκρες τους με λίγη ταινία πριν τα κολλήσετε.

Glue them, let it dry and you are ready!

Μόλις στεγνώσε η κόλλα το καινούριο μου κολιέ ήταν έτοιμο!

I love the way the mint color combines with the gold and the black. Don't you?

Αυτό που μου άρεσε περισσότερο είναι ο τρόπος που το μεντί χρώμα συνδυάζεται με το χρυσό και το μαύρο.

Gold and pink statement necklace DIY! / Χρυσό και ροζ statement κολιέ!

Remember those cute bracelets I made with leftover supplies? Well I loved the idea and I did it again! And I think I'm going to challenge myself to use all of those leftovers! Here's my new project : a spring pastel statement necklace I'm going to wear a lot!

Θυμάστε εκείνα τα εύκολα βραχιόλια που είχα φτιάξει με υλικά που είχαν περισσέψει απο άλλα projects? Λοιπόν μου άρεσε η ιδέα τόσο που αποφάσισα να το ξανακάνω! Μου φαίνεται ότι θα το δω σαν πρόκληση να χρησιμοποιήσω ότι υλικό έχει περισσέψει απο άλλες κατασκευές! Να τι έφτιαξα αυτή τη φορά : Ενα ανοιξιάτικο κολιέ σε παστελ αποχρώσεις που νομίζω πως θα φορέσω πολύ!

Here's what I had :
-2 magnetic clasps
-some metallic decorations for 10mm cord
-2 leftover pieces of cord in gold and light pink.
The key to this project's success was the combination of two different textured cords and the colour combination of gold and light pink. (a combination that can't go wrong!)

Να τι είχα :
-2 μαγνητικά κουμπώματα
-μερικά διακοσμητικά για κορδόνι 10 mm
-2 διαφορετικά κομμάτια κορδόνι που το καθένα δεν έφτανε για ολόκληρο κολιέ.
Το μυστικό εδω δεν ήταν η τεχνική αλλά ο συνδυασμός 2 κορδονιών με διαφορετικές υφές και φυσικά ο χρωματικός συνδυασμός του χρυσού με το ροζ παλ! (συνδυασμός που κατά τη γνώμη μου πάντα πετυχαίνει!)

I just love the fact that just minutes ago these were a bunch of stuff in my pile of leftovers and now it's a very cute accesory!

Πολύ μου αρέσει που πριν λίγα μόλις λεπτά αυτο το κολιέ ήταν μερικά υλικά σε μια στοίβα που νόμιζα ότι δε θα χρησιμοποιήσω ποτέ!
