You know I always love to add some sparkle in my life! When Christmas comes I go crazy! This year I can't really find my Christmas mood yet (recent sad events in the world don't help) but you know what, I'm a mom and I can't let fear take away my life and not let me celebrate Christmas with my kids. This first Christmas post however is all about grown-ups! All about us that love sparkly jewelry! I've gathered 10 DIY's from around the web for sparkly jewelry you can make until Christmas!

Θέλω να ξεκινήσω τις Χριστουγεννιάτικές μου αναρτήσεις αν και δεν εχω ιδιαίτερο κέφι (λογικό νομίζω ποιός έχει αυτες τις μέρες). Παρόλα αυτά είμαι γονιός και δεν μπορώ να αφήσω το φόβο και τη λύπη να στερήσει απο τα παιδιά μου τα Χριστούγεννα. Άσχετη λίγο η πρώτη μου Χριστουγεννιάτικη ανάρτηση αλλά σχετική με όλες εμάς που αγαπάμε τα κοσμήματα! Gold twig bobby pin DIY!

τσιμπιδάκια 5:30 μ.μ.

The other day we were at the garden with my baby girl getting some fresh air and enjoying all those beautiful fall images! Then I saw our apricot tree and it's small twigs and I thought I should cut some of them to make hairpins! I know it's not an original idea but it's something I've always wanted to do!

Είμαι κορίτσι του φθινοπώρου και του χειμώνα το ομολογώ! Έτσι πριν απο μερικές μέρες ήμασταν με τη μικρή μου στον κήπο και απολαμβάναμε τον υπέροχο φθινοπωρινό καιρό! Παρατηρώντας τα ξεραμένα κλαράκια της βερικοκιάς μου σκέφτηκα πως ήταν η τέλεια ευκαιρία να τα κόψω και να φτιάξω τσιμπιδάκια με κλαράκια! Δεν είναι πρωτότυπη ιδέα αλλά είναι κάτι που πάντα ήθελα να φτιάξω!

If you are trying it, make sure to use the thickest twigs you can find! Oh and here's my little helper! (The cutiest little helper in the whole world!)

Αν θέλετε να το δοκιμάσετε φροντίστε να κόψετε τα πιο χοντρά κλαράκια που μπορείτε να βρείτε! Α να και η μικρή μου βοηθός (η πιο γλυκιά βοηθός του κόσμου!)

Βack to my hairpins!
Gluing them is obviously the hardest part. You need a very strong glue and you need to find the right spots on the twig where to put the glue. I also put a carton between the hairpin's front side and it's back to prevent the glue from gluing both sides together. I used clips to hold them together and let them dry for a few hours.

Πίσω στα τσιμπιδάκια! Φυσικα το δύσκολο σε αυτή την κατασκευή ειναι το κόλλημα! Χρειάζεστε μια πολυ δυνατή κόλλα και να βρείτε τα σημεία στα οποία το κλαράκι μπορεί να κάνει καλύτερη επαφη με το τσιμπιδάκι. Επίσης να προσέξετε να μην κολλήσουν οι δυο πλευρες μεταξύ τους! (γιαυτο και έβαλα ενα χαρτόνι ανάμεσα). Χρησιμοποίησα ότι τσιμπιδάκια είχα πρόχειρα για να τα κρατήσουν όλα μαζι και τα άφησα αρκετες ώρες να βεβαιωθώ ότι κόλλησαν!

Next I spray-painted them gold!

Έπειτα τα έβαψα με χρυσό σπρέυ!

And here they are all finished! (I tried to do a photo with me wearing them but it wasn't that easy to do it all by myself!) I don't know how much will they last and not brake but for now they are pretty cute!

Και έτοιμα! (Προσπάθησα να σας τα βγάλω φορεμένα αλλα δεν είχα βοήθεια και να το κάνω μόνη μου ήταν πολυ δύσκολο τελικά!) Είναι όμως πολυ ιδιαίτερα φορεμένα! Δεν ξέρω πόσο θα αντέξουν αλλα ακόμα και για μια εμφάνιση θα κάνουν εντύπωση!

Cord statement necklace

κολιέ 9:35 μ.μ.

I'm all about the necklaces lately! This time I made one again with leftover cord!

Mε την άφιξη του φθινοπώρου εχω πάθει ένα μικρο κόλλημα με τα κολιέ! Εφτιαξα λοιπόν άλλο ένα με κομμάτια απο κορδόνι που είχαν περισσέψει!

Here are the materials I used :
-cotton cord (rope) in 3 different colours
-glue
-magnetic clasp
-faux stone cabochon
-flat aluminium wire

Να τα υλικά μου:
-κορδόνι ορειβατικό σε 3 διαφορετικά χρώματα
-κόλλα
-μαγνητικό κούμπωμα
-καμποσόν με πέτρα
-φλατ συρμα αλουμινίου

Start by placing the cords the way you like. The two smaller pieces were the same length and I used the black one as the primary color.
It's hard to keep them in place so add a dab of glue between them to make it easier.

Για αρχή έβαλα τα κορδόνια μου σε σειρά φτιάχνοντας το σχέδιο μου. Τα δυο μικρότερα κομμάτια ήταν ίσα αλλά το μαύρο μεγαλύτερο.
Για να μείνουν στη θέση τους έβαλα λίγη κολλα μεταξύ τους.

Then cut two pieces of your wire and use it to wrap the cords together so they stay together. You can wrap that wire with your hands, it's very flexible. Just make sure to tack the ends nicely at the back using pliers.

Έκοψα 2 κομμάτια απο το σύρμα και τα τύλιξα στις άκρες των κορδονιών σφιχτά για να τα κρατήσει στη θέση τους. Μπορείτε ακόμη και με τα χέρια σας να χρησιμοποιήσετε αυτο το σύρμα. Έπρεπε όμως να χρησιμοποιήσω την πένσα μου για να πιέσω το σύρμα στην πίσω πλευρά και να το "κρύψω" ώστε να μην ενοχλεί όταν το φορέσω.

Now glue the cabochon in the middle. When using this really strong glue, make sure to use it in a good ventilated room or outside.

Επειτα κόλλησα το καμποσόν στη μέση. Εδω πρέπει να υπενθυμίσω πως όταν δουλευετε με τόσο ισχυρές κόλλες καλό είναι να είστε σε εξωτερικό χώρο ή κοντά σε ανοιχτό παράθυρο.

Finally you'll need to glue the clasp. The ends of this cord fray easily so to be able to fit them in the clasp a good trick is to cover them with some tape first.

Τέλος, κόλλησα το μαγνητικό κούμπωμα. Αυτα τα κορδόνια έχουν την τάση να ξεφτίζουν γρήγορα και εύκολα οπότε ένα καλό κόλπο είναι να τυλίγετε τις άκρες τους με λίγη ταινία πριν τα κολλήσετε.

Glue them, let it dry and you are ready!

Μόλις στεγνώσε η κόλλα το καινούριο μου κολιέ ήταν έτοιμο!

I love the way the mint color combines with the gold and the black. Don't you?

Αυτό που μου άρεσε περισσότερο είναι ο τρόπος που το μεντί χρώμα συνδυάζεται με το χρυσό και το μαύρο.

Geometric leather earrings DIY!

I'm loving my new project so much! It has a rock vibe and it takes me back to my teenage years where I used to be more of a"heavy metal" kind of girl! Plus geometric jewelry never go out of style!

Μ' αρεσουν πολύ τα καινούρια μου σκουλαρίκια! Είναι πολυ ροκ και μου θυμίζουν την εφηβεία μου στην οποία ήμουν ένα πιο "heavy metal" κορίτσι! Επιπλέον τα γεωμετρικά κοσμήματα δεν βγαίνουν ποτέ εκτός μόδας!

Materials :
-2 small pieces of chain
-leather scraps (real leather with a good thickness is ideal for these)
-2 headpins
-4 mm beads
-2 earring hooks
- jumprings
You'll also need round-nose pliers, flat pliers and leather hole punchers.

Υλικα που χρησιμοποίησα :
-2 μικρα κομμάτια αλυσίδας
-κομμάτια δέρματος (για αυτα τα σκουλαρίκια καλό ειναι να χρησιμοποιήσετε αληθινό δέρμα με κάποιο πάχος)
-2 γράνες
-χαντρες 4mm
-2 γάντζους για σκουλαρίκια
-κρικάκια
Επίσης θα χρειαστείτε πένσες και "μύλο δερματος" (για να κάνετε τρυπες στο δερμα)

First draw triangles on your leather pieces. Use a ruler to make them as identical as possible. Cut them carefully.

Πρωτα ζωγράφισα τριγωνα στα κομμάτια δέρματος. Με χάρακα για να είναι όσο το δυνατόν πιο ομοιόμορφα. Τα έκοψα προσεκτικά...

Use the punchers to make 2 holes on each piece as you see in the picture. Again try to make them at the same spots.

Χρησιμοποίησα το μύλο μου για να κάνω από 2 τρύπες στο κάθε τρίγωνο. Επίσης εδω πρόσεξα οι τρυπες να είναι συμμετρικές.

Take the headpin and make a loop at one end. Then thread your beads

Έπειτα πήρα τη γράνα μου, έκανα μια θηλειά στην άκρη και πέρασα τις χάντρες.

Secure the headpin with another loop.

Ασφάλισα τη γράνα με μια ακόμη θηλειά...

With 2 jumprings attach the headpin to the leather as pictured.

Με 2 κρικάκια έβαλα τη γράνα πάνω στο δέρμα όπως βλέπετε στη φωτο...

Now open those jumprings and attach the chain as pictured.

Άνοιξα τα κρικάκια και ένωσα και την αλυσίδα όπως βλέπετε στη φωτο...

Finally, with 2 more jumprings attach the earring hook.

Τέλος, ένωσα και το γαντζάκι του σκουλαρικιού...

Now repeat for the other earring and you are ready!

Faux leather bow keychain DIY!

I really like keychains! I think you can't have enough of them and also it's very easy to make your own the way you like using many different materials! This is the outcome of a lazy Sunday project, done in less than an hour. My new girly faux leather keychains!

Μ' αρέσουν πολυ τα μπρελόκ! Είναι μια μικρη λεπτομέρεια που με κάνει να χαμογελάω! Ασε που μπορείς μόνη σου να φτιάξεις ένα όπως το θέλεις και πολυ εύκολα! Το παρακάτω είναι προιόν ενός τεμπέλικου Κυριακάτικου απογεύματος. Σας παρουσιάζω τα καινούρια μου γλυκούλια μπρελοκ!

What I've used :

-faux leather piece

-spray paint in gold (optional)

-keychain ring

-bow template (I found this one on Pinterest but I couldn't find the source, a big thanks to anyone that made it!)

-strong glue
-scissors

Να τι χρησιμοποίησα :
-κομμάτι δερματίνης (μπορείς να χρησιμοποιήσεις ένα κομμάτι απο παλιά τσάντα)
-σπρευ χρυσό (προαιρετικο!)
-κρίκο για μπρελοκ (ξηλώστε ένα παλιό μπρελόκ!)
-εκτυπωμένο περίγραμμα φιόγκου (το συγκεκριμένο το βρηκα στο pinterest αλλα δυστυχως δεν βρήκα την πηγή του- όπως και να χει, ευχαριστώ όποιον το έφτιαξε!)
-δυνατή κόλλα
-ψαλίδι

I wanted to make two bows in different colors so I decided to spray paint one piece of my faux leather. I haven't done this before and I can say it went quite good. The paint did paint my piece gold but when I folded it the color "cracked" in some places (not really visible thought so I didn't mind)

Ήθελα να φτιάξω δυο σε διαφορετικά χρώματα έτσι αποφάσισα να δοκιμάσω να βάψω ένα κομμάτι με σπρευ! Βγήκε αρκετα καλό, άλλαξε χρώμα αλλά όταν το δίπλωσα το χρώμα "έσπασε" λίγο (δεν φαίνεται πολύ οπότε δεν με πειράζει!)

While this piece was drying, I used my template to cut another faux leather piece into 2 pieces as pictured. The third piece was made out of a gold leather scrap just to add some contrast to the design.

Ενω αυτό το κομμάτι στέγνωνε, έκοψα το περίγραμμα μου και το χρησιμοποίησα για να κόψω τα τρια κομμάτια απο δερματίνη. Το μικρο κομμάτι το κεντρικό του φιόγκου, το έκοψα από ένα άλλο κομμάτι για να έχει μια αντίθεση με το γενικό χρώμα του φιόγκου.

This is how you should fold the big piece. Then I added some glue to hold it in place.

Έτσι πρέπει να διπλώσετε το μεγάλο κομμάτι και να το κολλήσετε (από την πίσω πλευρά).

Now glue this part to the base part, take the bow center piece, slide the keychain ring and glue to the back. This is how it should look like when finished.

Τώρα κολλήστε αυτό το κομμάτι στο κομμάτι της βάσης, πάρτε και το τρίτο κεντρικό κομμάτι, περάστε τον κρίκο ανάμεσα και κολλήστε στην πίσω πλευρά. Τελειωμένο θα δείχνει έτσι :

Chain and rhinestone necklace DIY

These past days have been crazy! Schools started and my daughter is a first grader, her birthday are coming up (and I'm cutting snowflakes like crazy) and the baby is running around the house destroying everything! I wanted to make a craft but there was no time! Finally I managed to make a necklace and I'm going to show you the how-to! (It's pretty easy don't worry!)

Αυτές οι τελευταίες εβδομάδες εχουν τόσο τρέξιμο! Ανοιξαν τα σχολεία και είμαστε πρωτάκια, έχουμε γενέθλια και ετοιμάζουμε παρτυ (κόβω χιονονιφάδες σαν τρελή) και το μωρό τρέχει συνεχώς παίρνοντας σβάρνα ότι βρεθεί μπροστά της! Ήθελα να φτιάξω ενα κόσμημα αλλά που χρόνος! Τα κατάφερα όμως και σας το παρουσιάζω! Είναι ένα ιδιαίτερο κολιέ.

I used aluminium chain in 2 sizes (just 2 small pieces of the chunky chain), sew-on rhinestones, jumprings, bead stringing jewelry wire, a clasp and crimp beads (not pictured)

Χρησιμοποίησα αλυσίδα σε 2 μεγέθη (μόνο 2 μικρά κομμάτια από την πολυ χοντρη), στρας με βάση για ράψιμο, κρικάκια, στοπάκια, κούμπωμα και ατσαλόσυρμα.

First take a piece of the wire and thread a crimp bead. Then slide it through one of the chunky chain's piece. Use your pliers to secure the crimp bead.

Ξεκινήστε με ενα κομμάτι ατσαλόσυρμα στο οποίο περνάτε το στοπάκι. Πριν ασφαλίσετε το στοπάκι περάστε και το ένα μικρο κομμάτι της πολυ χοντρής αλυσίδας ώστε να τα ενώσετε. Τώρα ασφαλίστε το στοπάκι.

Now thread the rhinestones (this is the most difficult part to slide the wire through both of the holes) and close the wire usind another crimp bead. Open one link of your chunky chain and connect this piece too to the wire.

Επόμενο βήμα να περάσουμε τα στρας στο σύρμα (εδώ ήταν λίγο δύσκολο να περάσουν και στις 2 τρυπες ταυτόχρονα) και ασφαλίζουμε το σύρμα με άλλο ενα στοπάκι.

Next take your smaller chain and using 2 jumprings connect it with what you've made so far from both sides.

Σειρά της μικρότερης αλυσίδας να συνδεθεί με όλο το υπόλοιπο που φτιάξαμε με 2 κρικάκια. (ένα στην κάθε πλευρά)

Measure it, cut any excess chain and finally connect the clasp.

Μετρήστε το, κόψτε αλυσίδα αν χρειαστεί και τέλος ενώστε και το κούμπωμα.
